HAZARDOUS POSITION OF TRAFFIC MOVEMENT AT THE ENTRY POINT OF INDORE AIRPORT
As seen from the above figure, the entrance of Indore Airport is located at a point where the road is taking a right angled turn. The traffic coming from Indore side and going towards Super corridor is seen to be moving at a good speed. Airport bound traffic coming from Indore side weaves off from this traffic without any channelizing. The problem faced by the Airport bound traffic coming from Super Corridor side is much more complex. The turning of entry is not easily seen. Any new driver will find it difficult to locate the turning for the entry. The traffic from Super Corridor side intending to turn towards the Airport has to negotiate the traffic coming from Indore City side, the traffic exiting from the Airport and going towards Indore city side and also the traffic from Pithampur side going towards Indore City side. The Improvement of Indore Airport Junction needs to be taken up by the Authorities concerned as besides being a road safety hazard, it creates a bad impression of Indore city.
